There are 100.000’s of niches online. One of the most exiting sources on the internet is an open directory website dmoz.org. This is the largest human-edited directory on the web, listing over 4.5 million websites and 590.000 categories.

You have free acces to 590.000 niches! You can browse through the high level niches down to the sud-categories (micro niches) and pick as many micro niches as you desire. You can find so many niches there you would never have thought about without a tool.

Google Trends

Another way is following trends. A great tool for this is Google Trends. Where there is a trend, there is a niche. With this tool, you can actually type in a keyword and Google will tell you how the trends are as far as search volumes, and the activity on the Internet with people using Google in related to your search term.

With Google Trends you can see if a product, website, or service that you would like to offer is hot at a certain time of year or in comparison with your competitors. If you type something in and see trend graph line that is going straight up being you know that you are onto something because you’ve just discovered a trend that many people are searching for.

When you discover a trend that many people are searching for, you can simply come up with a solution to what they are searching for and apply just a little bit of SEO or even use AdWords to make sure that you are showing up in the listings of what people are searching for. Once you find some keywords that have a great trend, you can then simply add those keywords to your “Google Alerts” in stay completely up to date on the Internet. Also, when you’re typing in keywords and you see a trend line when up and up, then is starting to decline… you now know you’ve just discovered a “Fad” and you may want to move on to a new idea or topic where the trend line is on the rise.

Wonder wheel

There is also another wonderful market discovery tool offered by Google, the Wonder wheel! Simply go to Google, type in a keyword, click on the button that says “show options” (on the results page), select “Wonder wheel” and start digging. In a few clicks you have a ton of micro niches in the pocket!

It’s really as easy as that. Of course the real work begins at that point, but with Micro Niche Finder it will be fun!
